**MS SQL Server DBA - Onsite** Experience: 7+ years Location: Morrisville, NC (5 days in office) Timings may be either: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST OR 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM EST **Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future*** We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented MS SQL Server Database Administrator to manage and optimize our SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, performance tuning, security, and high availability solutions. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, integrity, and efficiency of our data infrastructure. **Key Responsibilities:** **Database Management:** Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases, including handling upgrades and migrations. **Performance Tuning:** Monitor and optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and resolution of performance bottlenecks. **Security:** Implement and enforce database security policies, manage user access, and conduct regular security audits. **Backup and Recovery:** Develop, implement, and test backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and minimize downtime. **High Availability & Disaster Recovery:** Design and implement HA/DR solutions such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, replication, and clustering. **Monitoring & Troubleshooting:** Proactively monitor database health, identify and resolve issues, and provide on-call support as needed. **Collaboration:** Work closely with development teams to design efficient data models, support application integration, and enable data-driven initiatives. **Documentation:** Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. **Qualifications:** Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments. Strong knowledge of T-SQL, indexing, and query optimization. Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance analysis. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Proficiency in developing and maintaining technical documentation. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. **Salary and Other Compensation:** Applications will be accepted until 11/28/2025 The annual salary for this position is between $49,001- $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
