Colorist Overview: As a Colorist, you will work closely with Design and Fabric teams to develop seasonal prints, plaids, stripes, and surface designs.
Colorist Responsibilities:
· Oversee and manage the tracking, receiving, and reading of all lab dips and bulk dyelots
· Update and manage color WIPS for weekly meetings
· Work closely with overseas vendors through daily correspondence
· Work with design and fabric teams to develop original prints and original pattern designs
· Recolor, color separate, and create repeats for both original and studio prints
· Oversee consistency in color standards and color pitch sheets across fabric and prints within each season
· Maintain accurate color records and color approval histories of each season in internal systems
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Design, Product Development, Production, etc.
· Use the spectrophotometer to read all lab dips
· Maintain weekly maintenance of spectrophotometer and color lab equipment
· Order and receive all color pantones for cross-functional teams
Colorist Qualifications:
· 2+ years of experience
· Degree in apparel, textiles, or related field
· Color proficiency certifications required
· Experience working at an apparel brand in production/product development is a plus
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products
· Must be organized and have a great attention to detail
· Working knowledge of textile fabrics and accessories
