Castlewood Apparel Group , a leading men’s and women’s apparel importer, is seeking Design Interns for our design teams. Interns will have the opportunity to receive training and develop their skills and knowledge under the guidance of our Design Directors & Senior Designers in all aspects of the design process.

This position is an hourly paid internship.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of a design team.
• Observe the development process from tech pack to prototype to salesman sample to bulk production.
• Exposure to creating and updating tech packs.
• Create and update sketches, presentation CADs, and print artwork.
• Update presentation boards.
• Perform design research as required.
• Maintain sample archive, fabric, and trim library.
• Prepare swatch cards and take photos.
• Track samples that are sent out by the sales team.
• Maintain order of showroom in anticipation of client meetings.
• Administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Junior or Senior in a bachelor’s degree program with a strong interest in fashion. Recent graduates of design programs may apply.
• Sketching ability with technical accuracy.
• Proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator is required. Samples of CAD work will be requested.
• Highly organized, responsible, punctual, reliable, and have a positive attitude.
• Detailed-oriented, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Professional, pleasant attitude, and proactive.

Other details :

• The salary range is $17 - $20 per hour.
• 24 hours maximum per week
• Flexible based on an academic schedule, if necessary.
• Work will be on-site only.
