*Job Description*
As a Civil Litigator at our firm, you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of civil litigation cases, including business disputes, commercial litigation, construction issues, consumer law matters, the Deceptive Trade Practice Act, and contract disputes. We are seeking a motivated attorney with 2-7 years of practice experience who is eager to take on significant responsibilities and grow within our team.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation and prepare legal memoranda.
* Draft legal documents pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
* Prepare for trials by organizing evidence and developing case strategies.
* Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials as both second and first chair
* Attend court hearings and client meetings
* Advocate for clients in court proceedings and negotiations.
* Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to litigation practices.
* Collaborate closely with senior attorneys for mentorship and professional development
* Provide clients with clear guidance on their legal rights and options.
*Qualifications*
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
* Admission to the Texas State Bar and active license to practice law.
* Strong legal drafting, research, writing, and analytical skills with attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication abilities.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
* Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
* A demonstrated passion for trial work and litigation
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
