About Delta Rising Foundation:

Delta Rising Foundation accelerates science-based systemic solutions as we evolve the art of sustainable culture. Our work focuses on indigenous-led carbon and biodiversity projects and increasing green infrastructure in communities with low climate resilience. We are currently seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team to support the review of our monthly account statements and assist in the 990 long form filing.

Job Summary:

The primary responsibilities for the Nonprofit Accountant will be to review monthly account statements, maintain accurate financial records, and support the filing of the IRS 990 long form. The ideal candidate will bring experience in nonprofit accounting, financial management, and an understanding of non-profit tax filings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review monthly account statements for accuracy and compliance
• Assist in preparing and filing the IRS 990 long form
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including tracking budgets, grants, and donations
• Ensure compliance with non-profit financial regulations and tax laws
• Provide support for financial reporting, audits, and preparation of financial statements as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 year in the nonprofit sector preferred
• Experience in reviewing financial statements and assisting with IRS 990 filings
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit tax regulations and financial management
• CPA certification preferred but not required
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Wave, Xero)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently
