Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position specializing in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients, requiring a VA or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position located in a hospital progressive care unit (PCU)
• 24-bed PCU focused on cardiothoracic and vascular surgery post-operative patients
• Patient ratios are currently 1:5 in the PCU
• Travelers are expected to float to other PCUs and may float to Med Surg units as needed
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• 13-week contract assignment
• RNs must work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment, and two holidays during the winter season (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s)
• Orientation modules are required and may be completed pre-start or during facility orientation
• Epic EMR training included during orientation
• Candidates living within 100 miles of the facility are considered local and are not eligible, with limited exceptions for those living between 50-99.9 miles who may accept one 13-week assignment with no extensions allowed
• Previous employees must have been separated for at least one year prior to returning as a traveler
• Travelers cannot return after working 365 days on assignment, with a review process for exceptions by leadership
• Hospital scrub/dress code applies

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Experience caring for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients in a progressive care unit required
• Ability to work with PCU-specific equipment
• Required to provide two professional references during consideration
• Must submit a copy of driver's license and Social Security Number for consideration
