\n\nQualifications – NICU Registered Nurse Requirements\n

\n
• 3-5 years of NICU nursing experience in a Level 3 or higher facility\n
• Experience in a Trauma 1 hospital setting\n
• Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR)\n
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing\n
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred\n
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)\n
• NRP certification (American Heart Association)\n

\n\nKey Responsibilities – NICU RN Healthcare Jobs\n

• Deliver high-quality neonatal intensive care in accordance with NICU nursing standards\n
• Implement evidence-based procedures and nursing theories specific to NICU\n
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care using EPIC EMR\n
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans\n
• Modify care plans based on ongoing patient evaluation\n
• Monitor intake and output for neonatal patients\n
• Support mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices\n
• Administer medications safely using bar code scanning technology\n
• Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds and report on patient assignments\n
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing hazards\n
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and provide constructive feedback\n
• Pursue professional development and identify personal learning needs\n
