Overview Liberty Title & Escrow, under the Fidelity National Financial (FNF) family of companies, is a leading provider of title insurance and settlement services. We are seeking a Title Curative Specialist to support our Title Department in resolving title issues, reviewing title commitments, and ensuring clear title for real estate transactions. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of common title defects and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment. This role involves identifying and curing title issues, communicating with attorneys, lenders, and other parties, and obtaining and preparing the necessary documentation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering a smooth and timely curative process. This is a full-time role, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST, reporting to management based in Warwick, RI. Location This position can sit 100% remote. If located near Warwick, RI – some onsite may be required. Ability to travel 5-10% for onsite trainings as required. Duties & Responsibilities Verifying factors such as the legal descriptions, ownership, or restrictions related to the property Type/review title commitments for accuracy and completeness Identify and research title defects by researching conditions or restrictions that may exist on property titles Prepare lists of legal instruments pertaining to a property Locate tax records, judgments, liens, mortgages, and bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings Summarize pertinent legal or insurance details for examination, proof, or ready reference Update colleagues and clients on the progress made with property title research Summarize recorded documents, such as trust deeds and vesting contracts, that can affect the property’s title Escalate title curative issues to management Follow up on outstanding title searches from Title Abstractor Examine documentation related to the title including liens, mortgages, judgments, plat books, easements, maps, contracts, etc. Understand and apply relevant state and local regulations Perform other tasks as assigned Minimum Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of Title Clearing experience Solid written and verbal communication skills Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise Excellent organizational skills Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Preferred Experience Previous experience with SoftPro preferred Extensive knowledge of applicable title standards and practices Excellent interpersonal skills and communication Well-organized with proven ability to effectively manage a large pipeline Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities Compensation and Benefits This position has the potential to earn compensation starting at $25 per hour, based on location and job-related factors such as skillset and experience. Actual rate may vary within the range provided, depending on factors including skillset, experience and location. The base compensation is part of the total rewards package, which may include health and welfare insurance (medical/dental/vision/life/disability); paid holidays, vacation, and sick time; and 401(k) plan and employee stock purchase plan matching.
