Vaco is hiring for an Accountant opportunity in Salt Lake City, UT
Direct hire, onsite
Salary: $60-80,000/yr

 

Position Summary

The General Accountant performs a variety of accounting and administrative functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable collections, journal entries, and month-end close activities. This position is responsible for accurately calculating, posting, and verifying financial data to maintain accounting records and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

Essential Functions

Accounts Receivable

• Email account statements to customers and follow up on delinquent accounts.

• Request payment from customers via email and phone for past-due invoices.

Accounts Payable

• Set up new vendors in the accounting system.

• Post invoices from freight forwarders and other suppliers.

• Process vendor payments by credit card and record transactions in the system.

General Accounting & Other Duties

• Reconcile petty cash and assist with balancing as needed.

• Prepare and distribute year-end 1099s.

• Manage sales tax accruals and quarterly filings.

• Support month-end close processes and general ledger reconciliations.

• Assist with customer billing for manufactured items and daily bank deposits as needed.

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience.

Computer Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Internet tools.

• Experience with Business Central ERP preferred.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
