Senior Property Accountant

Location: Louisville, KY | Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Salary: $49,000 – $59,000 annually

Overview

A locally established property management firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of managed properties. This is a hands-on role focused on accurate financial reporting, cash management, and collaboration with property managers, with the opportunity to provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily property accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties
• Complete bank reconciliations and oversee cash management activities
• Review tenant accounts, delinquencies, and owner statements in partnership with property managers
• Support property-related financial activity including final operating statements and closing tasks
• Assist with internal controls, audit preparation, and process improvements
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 3+ years of accounting experience , preferably within property management or real estate
• Experience with property management accounting software ; YARDI strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
