Real Estate Transaction Attorney

Sr. Real Estate Transaction Attorney - Santa Monica, CA

A boutique coastal California law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Transaction Attorney to join its growing real estate practice. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development matters. This role offers meaningful client interaction, hands-on responsibility, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated real estate deals in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the California Bar in good standing
  • 6+ years of experience in commercial real estate transactions
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, and closing materials
  • Familiarity with title, survey, zoning, and due diligence review
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage transactions independently from contract through closing
  • Strong communication skills and client-focused approach

Responsibilities

  • Handle commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing
  • Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, commercial leases, amendments, and related documents
  • 1800 Billable hour minimum
  • Conduct and manage due diligence, including review of title, survey, zoning, and environmental matters
  • Coordinate closings with clients, lenders, brokers, and opposing counsel
  • Advise clients on real estate risk management, deal structure, and strategic considerations
  • Maintain organized files and manage multiple transactions simultaneously
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality work
