Duties and Responsibilities:

The production planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels. Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the company system.

Incumbent will plan and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity. Analyze sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements. Manage inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. Provides CS with shipping and delivery date information. Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.

Key duties include but not limited to the following:

• Monitor SAP for customer sale orders entered by customer service.
• Check available inventory, confirm shipments with Customer Service.
• Review products needed with customer service.
• Communicate with Customer Service on delays/conflicts in meeting orders.
• Notify CS of lot #’s for shipments, enabling CS to invoice customers.
• Error handling (correct any batches that shows on the COGI screen)
• Material & Batch Movement (complete transfers that’s needed for customer orders or inventory adjustments – through MMR’s.)
• Complete inventory adjustments (quantities that are added to or taken out of SAP)
• Maintain and control all MMR’s for all Bulk loads shipping out – next day & inventory control.
• Work with purchasing to ensure that the proper amount of material is ordered.
• Place commodity production orders as needed.
• Work on weekly utility and production reports as requested by Plant Manager.
• Manage an accurate inventory of warehouse materials.
• Receive all raw materials & finished goods into SAP that have been ordered by the Purchasing Dept.

General Requirements:

• Associates degree.
• 2 to 7 years of experience in a production planning/materials controls function or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of SAP is required.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must pass Department of Homeland Security background check, pre-placement physical and pre-employment drug-screen.
