A leading private equity firm based in Washington, DC is seeking a First-Year (1st-Year) Private Equity Associate to join its investment team. What You’ll Do

• Play a meaningful role across the full deal lifecycle , including sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, investment memos, and portfolio value creation
• Work closely with Partners and senior leadership in a non-layered, apprenticeship-style environment
• Lead deep sector research across core verticals (industrials, business services, consumer)
• Support strategic and operational initiatives within portfolio companies, collaborating directly with management teams
• Contribute to investment theses, deal structuring, and long-term strategy development

What We’re Looking For

• 2–4 years of investment banking experience (ideally in industrials, business services, consumer , or as a strong generalist)
• Exceptional analytical and financial modeling abilities
• Strong deal exposure and demonstrated understanding of M&A processes
• Highly driven, intellectually curious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, meritocratic environment
• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to present complex analyses clearly
