About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Prepress Technician to join our team in our Utah branch. In this role, you will be responsible for building prepress-ready artwork efficiently, editing high-resolution images, ensuring that design work aligns with client guidelines and company specifications and processing files in RIP software. You will collaborate with various teams, including clients, sales, customer service and production staff, to ensure the seamless preparation of artwork and proofs for print production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preflight files per company protocol and press specifications/tolerances.

• Edit and manipulate high-resolution images as required.

• Create accurate prepress-ready artwork in a timely and efficient manner.

• Make logical and creative decisions while working on complex layouts and designs, as required.

• Communicate effectively with managers, clients, account managers, and production personnel to ensure smooth workflows.

• Read and understand job requirements prior to starting the process, ensuring all files are in line with customer expectations and company specifications.

• Create proofs and mock-ups as required.

• Assist in other duties as required to support the team and meet production goals.

• Work overtime, as required, to ensure deadlines are met.

• Adhere to the company’s code of ethics, working in compliance with all health and safety regulations, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

• Maintain a safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, including reporting accidents, injuries, or hazards.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Post-secondary education in graphic arts or a related field preferred.

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in graphic arts in the print packaging industry, specifically with Flexo and Digital print platforms.

• Extensive knowledge of print processes and their impact on artwork output.

• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud apps and Colour Management / R.I.P. software.

• Extensive knowledge of Pantone colour builds, including Extended Gamut.

• Positive attitude with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Highly organized, creative, and logical thinker with the ability to solve complex challenges.

• Proficiency with both Macintosh and PC (Windows) computer platforms, and knowledge of relevant design software.

• In-depth understanding of PDF workflows.

• Ability to work with the company’s MS-based infrastructure.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to professionally interact with customers and internal teams.
