Join to apply for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner role at Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) WNCCHS is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides integrated, trauma‑informed primary health care services to underserved communities. We are seeking an Advance Practice Nurse (APN), Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or Physician Assistant (PA) to deliver high‑quality pediatric care and support our interdisciplinary health‑care team. Pay Range Base pay: $98,000.00/yr – $110,000.00/yr Responsibilities Engage in a patient‑centered approach to provide timely access to high‑quality care for patients and their families Serve as a role model of professionalism for all members of the interdisciplinary health‑care team Collaborate with clinicians—including physicians, APNs, PAs, pharmacists, therapists, dentists, and support staff—to form a high‑performing team Cultivate a climate of safety, trust, and compassion for patients and colleagues Provide medical evaluation, treatment, and consultation services for pediatric patients, including responding to emergencies and answering medical questions Deliver high‑value, cost‑conscious care; demonstrate stewardship of resources by limiting unnecessary testing and referrals; consider risks, benefits, and patient preferences when making diagnostic or therapeutic decisions Document all patient care activities and bills for services in the electronic health record; documentation must be clear, concise, accurate, updated, and detailed enough to allow continuity of care and review of safety and quality Provide medical orders for prescription medications and refills, administration of medications, preventive care, ancillary testing, and/or referrals as needed to patients Qualifications Education Graduation from an accredited master’s degree program Certification / Licensure Current North Carolina licensure/certification required (APN, FNP, or PA) Current DEA and BLS certificates required Must be Medicaid and Medicare eligible Experience 3 years of primary care provider experience Knowledgeable about current standards, methods, and procedures for delivery of evidence‑based care in an efficient, organized, and accurate manner Collaboration and teamwork skills to work efficiently with others, providing new ideas and inspiring staff and management Time‑management skills Interpersonal skills, compassion, and empathy to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues; flexibility to work with a variety of people Previous medical office or FQHC experience preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Russian preferred Experience in public health preferred Work/Life Benefits Competitive health plans for employees and dependents, including medical, dental, vision, and telehealth Two floating holidays Eleven paid holidays Accrued PTO (156 hours in first year) No weekend or holiday work required Employee Assistance Network Financial Well‑Being Benefits 403(b) Retirement Savings with match Employer‑paid short‑/long‑term disability insurance and life insurance HRSA and public non‑profit student loan forgiveness Career Growth Benefits Monthly staff meetings and training Relias Learning Management System Continued medical education (CME) & continuing education (CEU) Malpractice insurance covered by Federal Torts Claims Act (FTCA) $2,500 per year for certification, recertification, or licensing fees Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is an equal‑opportunity employer; all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment, services, programs, or activities without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
