Position Overview:
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services to infants, children, and adolescents in a clinic setting. This role involves independent clinical decision-making in collaboration with the supervising physician, focusing on delivering high-quality care while building lasting rapport with families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct well-child exams, developmental screenings, and routine pediatric follow-ups.
- Diagnose and manage common childhood illnesses, acute concerns, and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, eczema,).
- Perform and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests (labs, point-of-care testing, etc.).
- Order and manage vaccinations according to CDC guidelines.
- Develop treatment plans and provide patient and family education regarding care options, medication use, and healthy growth and development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient clinic workflow.
- Participate in periodic provider meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Florida APRN license with Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification (CPNP or PNP-Primary).
- BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers (must be current).
- Experience in pediatrics strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and family-centered patient care skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Comfort managing mild behavioral and developmental health concerns.
- Knowledge of evidence-based pediatric practice guidelines.
- EMR proficiency
