LHH is seeking a highly organized Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist to join a company in Nassau County to work onsite and support core financial operations. This role is responsible for billing, invoicing, payroll processing for 250+ employees, and maintaining accurate financial records. Candidates with certified payroll experience and a construction industry background are strongly preferred. Company will look at temp to hire candidates and can pay $38 an hour and perm $80K annually.
Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing (Primary) • Process weekly and/or biweekly payroll for 250+ employees. • Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports (CPR) and ensure full compliance with prevailing wage requirements. • Maintain employee payroll records, garnishments, deductions, taxes, and leave reporting. • Verify timesheets and labor categories; coordinate closely with field supervisors for accuracy. • Respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally. Billing & Invoicing • Prepare customer invoices, progress billings, subcontractor billings, and jobcost allocations. • Monitor outstanding invoices and support collections as needed. • Reconcile billing discrepancies and communicate with clients and vendors for resolution. Bookkeeping & Accounting Support • Maintain the general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and monthend close tasks. • Process accounts payable/receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness. • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements. • Support audit documentation and compliance requirements.
