PAYROLL BUSINESS SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (On-site)

Key Responsibilities
  • Works in partnership with the Payroll Director, Payroll BSA Manager, Payroll Manager and Payroll Team Lead as a subject matter expert of the payroll system(s) by administering and ensuring the overall integrity of the payroll data in Workday by reconciling data and reports for accuracy, errors, and completeness.
  • Assists department staff and managers with technical issues or inquiries related to the use of Workday by collecting, compiling, writing, analyzing and generating data for various reports from the Workday system as needed.
  • Audit payroll data to correct quarterly taxes to ensure correct quarterly tax filing and W2 reporting and communicate with partners affected by the correction, if applicable.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for any issues that present in payroll, time calculations, and time off, including data/reporting.
  • Assists with project oversight from design through implementation to ensure project is completed in a timely manner, as well as communicating progress updates to payroll management and providing recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Performs payroll processing functions including, but not limited to, reviewing time data entry for accuracy, reviewing manual deductions and retroactive hours, and loading EIB files.
  • Performs routine data audits to analyze and address issues to assist payroll users in the proper use of earnings or deductions codes and by providing solutions to a problem.
  • Acts as functional report writing administrator providing staff with custom reports to support operational processes and compliance/regulatory needs.
  • Assist with the accurate reconciliation and ensure that all payments are made for 401K, Deferred Comp, and Pretax Savings accounts.
  • Assist with accurate reporting/reconciliation and ensure that all payments are recorded properly in the link between payroll and General Ledger.
  • Performs routine configuration and troubleshooting of the Payroll and Time Tracking modules in Workday to support the payroll team.
  • Provides functional/technical support for all payroll interfaces and resolves issues with vendors.
Professional Experience and Education
  • Must have as a minimum of 2+ years experience in payroll systems support/processing
  • This is an entry level position
  • Workday Payroll systems support is preferred but not required.
  • ADP and Daily Pay experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a minimum of an associates degree or higher preferred.
Additional Information
  • Salary: $70,000-$85,000; may be eligible for bonus
