Overview

Marketing Coordinator, Email and Engagement reports to the Marketing Manager and supports multiple functions within HGOs Audiences Department. The role involves crafting email campaigns and supporting advertising and promotional efforts to promote the HGO brand and increase sales, retention, and engagement for single ticket, subscription, and group sales. The position supports various audience growth initiatives and executes tasks to reach marketing objectives, including continued audience engagement and expansion to new audiences.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support email marketing and database communication efforts, including upkeep of calendar, email creation, copywriting, proofing, editing, testing and reporting.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to ensure messaging for each email communication and department initiative is clearly and accurately communicated and executed within HGO brand guidelines.
  • Ensure cross-departmental collaboration on asset development for email marketing efforts by submitting timely requests for designs, videos, blog articles, etc. needs that provide colleagues with clear direction and timelines.
  • Assist Marketing Manager with the upkeep of email marketing calendar to ensure successful email campaigns, appropriate timing of communications, and seamless cross-departmental communications within HGO including the Butler Studio, Community & Learning, Philanthropy, and Special Events.
  • Execute promotional plans created to strategically target consumers whether a designated demographic or an audience with unique connections to an opera, as well as new-to-opera guests. Efforts include support for existing affinity groups, as well as development of promotional codes, theme nights, add-on offerings, cross-promotional strategies with other organizations, etc.
  • Assist Marketing Manager on execution of multi-channel promotions and advertising plans to support subscription and single ticket sales, as well as community initiatives, events, programs, and other initiatives. This includes managing deliverables tied to paid, organic, trade and barter activities.
  • Execute initiatives designed to increase audiences for our email subscriptions, database, sales leads, and social media following. Partner with colleagues to track and report progress on a regular basis.
  • Support all grassroots activations intended to reach new audiences such as HGOs marketing presence at Giving Voice, Carols on the Green, Miller Outdoor Theater, and other Wortham Theater Center events. Provide Administrative support to the Marketing team as requested including data entry, report generation, inventory, organization, accounting tasks, and other office management duties as requested.
  • Support merchandise and promotional item efforts for the department including sourcing samples, keeping inventory, and executing fulfillment.
  • Perform various other tasks that may be assigned by the Marketing Manager, Director of Marketing or Chief Marketing & Experience Officer.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or sales preferred.
  • 1-3 years relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in writing is required. Writing samples will be requested.
  • Experience working in an email marketing platform (Active Campaign, Constant Contact, MailChimp, WordFly, Prospect2) preferred.
  • Experience working in a CRM database system (especially Tessitura) is a plus.
  • Background in performing arts is a plus.
  • Must be able to work some evenings/weekends.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, high energy and exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
  • An eye for detail and quality control is imperative, as well as being able to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • An enthusiastic, proactive and collaborative professional manner required.
