Machine Shop Manager

📍 Newport, NH | 💲 $100,000–$115,000 | 🕗 Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We’re looking for a Machine Shop Manager to lead daily operations in a 50-person precision machining shop. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced CNC and manual machining environment where your expertise in production, people, and process will make a direct impact.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day machine shop operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Mentor and develop machinists, supervisors, and cross-functional team members.
• Oversee scheduling, workflow, and resources using ERP/MRP systems.
• Monitor tooling, materials, and machine utilization to maximize efficiency.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to maintain precision standards.
• Drive Lean/5S/continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Track production and quality KPIs and act on trends.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of machining experience (CNC + manual required).
• 2+ years of leadership experience in a machine shop or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of tooling, materials, and machining processes.
• ERP/MRP scheduling experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Background with Lean/5S/Six Sigma practices a plus.
• Strong decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.
