JOB SUMMARY
Daedalus Aerospace is seeking instructor-qualified Flight Test Pilots, Engineers, and Space Operators as contracted subject matter experts.
Selected candidates will support the United States Air Force Test Pilot School (USAF TPS) to both develop instructional materials and provide instruction to students during curriculum events. This role is part-time and requires occasional travel to Edwards AFB, California.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Instruct TPS students and/or TPS instructor upgrade candidates per USAF TPS curriculum. This includes pre-event coordination and instruction, event execution, debrief, and grade sheet completion.
· Successfully complete any training required by TPS to maintain currency and qualification as a TPS instructor.
· Depending on candidate experience and qualification, selected candidates’ duties may include providing instruction in the classroom, control room, or in-flight in a variety of curriculum aircraft.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· At least 2 years of flight test experience
· Experience in flight test control rooms
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Extensive engineering and flight test experience
· Graduate of a formally recognized Test Pilot School
· US Citizen
· Able to pass physical and training qualification requirements to provide contract aircrew support
· Maintain DD2992 pilot medical clearance or an annual FAA Class II flight physical
· Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Selected candidates may be offered opportunities to support other USAF TPS execution events, including Qualitative Evaluation flights in other aircraft and student Capstone Trips. Candidates selected may be subject to a government security investigation.
