Position Overview
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the primary leader of toServe Ministry, guiding both the ministry’s vision and daily operations in alignment with its Christ-centered mission. The ED will provide leadership in strategic planning, fundraising, program development, community engagement, and organizational management. Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, workers, and ministry partners, the ED ensures that all programs and operations reflect the ministry’s values and advance its vision. The ED will answer to Board Chairperson.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Christ-centered leadership that fosters a culture of faith, compassion, and service.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set strategic goals, maintain clear communication, and ensure alignment with the ministry’s mission and vision.
- Direct and support the growth of Bible Study Correspondence, Re-Entry as well as any other related programs.
- Recruit, train, and manage workers who walk alongside participants in both programs.
- Evaluate program outcomes and implement improvements to strengthen impact.
- Serve as the representative of toServe Ministry, cultivating relationships with local organizations, churches, businesses, and networks to advance and support the mission.
- Speak at events and gatherings to increase awareness and strengthen relationships.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies, including donor cultivation, grants, and sponsorships, to ensure financial sustainability for the ministry.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors and ministry partners through effective stewardship.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including staff and volunteer management, budgeting, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with the Board to develop, manage, and maintain the organizational budget, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Qualifications:
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ
- Strong leadership and organizational management experience (nonprofit leadership preferred)
- Proven ability in fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recruit, equip, and motivate workers
- Experience in correctional ministry, re-entry programs, or related fields a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree in ministry, nonprofit management, and or related field preferred
Work week expectation :
- This is a full-time, exempt position of 40 hours per week.
- The work week is typically Monday-Friday. Primary working hours are during the day, but due to the nature of this ministry, some evening and/or weekend work may be required to complete tasks.
