Elliot Pharmacy provides high-quality and personal prescription services to patients in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, including those whose providers are outside the Elliot network. We offer a variety of value-added services, including vaccinations, adherence packaging, meds-to-beds, shipping, and non-hazardous compounding. In addition, we are a designated specialty pharmacy with access to many hard-to-find medications. Our pharmacists, technicians and front-store team are committed to building long-term collaborative relationships with our patients and helping them become and stay well.
About the Job
Supports the pharmacist in preparation and sale of medications.
What You’ll Do
Orders and maintains pharmacy supplies and ensures that inventories are kept at optimum levels.
Receives and processes prescriptions via written prescriptions from patients or electronic prescriptions from providers to be reviewed by registered pharmacist.
Enters prescription(s) into processing software.
Retrieves medication from stock and places label on container for final review by pharmacist.
Creates and maintains patient profiles in computer systems, including addresses, phone numbers, third party, allergy, and health condition information
Answers inbound telephone calls and triages calls as appropriate based upon the nature of the call to the appropriate staff.
Communicates with patients by telephone and takes refill requests from patients. Transfers calls from providers to the pharmacist when necessary.
Performs cashier functions for the sale of prescriptions and other merchandise.
Submits, receives, and places inventory in stock by utilizing knowledge of order placement, receiving, and merchandising. Verifies quantities against invoices and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
Receives and stores incoming supplies. Supply and monitor robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers, and label the containers
Addresses insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues as appropriate by communicating with insurance providers, patients, and pharmacists.
Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of compounded medications according to written prescriptions and state law.
What You’ll Need
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: One (1) year previous retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure: NH Board of Pharmacy Technician or Intern Registration required. National Technician Certification within 1 month of hire required , this requirement is waived for Registered Interns.
