Utility Contracting is seeking a full-time Construction Laborer that holds a CDL Class A with no restrictions. The location for this scope of work is in the Holland area.

Utility Contracting Co. is an outside plant telecommunications construction contractor based Michigan. We provide construction services that include: Vacuum excavation, Locating, Fiber splicing, Aerial placing/wrecking, Directional drilling, Plowing, and much more. It is the goal of Utility Contracting to provide the highest level of service to our customers with safe, quality, and productive work practices.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• This position requires the use of a Class A CDL license to transport materials/equipment to job site.


• Assisting in loading & unloading of equipment and supplies needed to complete the job


• Hand digging with shovels, post hole diggers, and picks to expose underground utilities


• Place conduit / cable, or pipe in trenches, splice conduit sections, install couplers, place anchors, pedestals, vaults, etc. to complete construction tasks


• Complete jobsite clean-up, refill holes, trenches, and compact soil to ensure that it is packed down and even. Ensure that shrubs, plants, flowers, and landscape is left in the same condition that it was found in


• Willing & able to work in all types of climates, temperatures, seasons, and weather


• Demonstrate good judgment in the field


• Work as a team in tandem with crew foreman and other crew members


• Perform all duties adhering to company safety procedures and policies

Qualifications

• Walk 6-12 hours per day


• Be able to lift & carry 50lbs


• Be able & willing to perform all physical tasks required throughout the work day


• Clean Insurable driving record


• Must be willing to work overtime and to travel (Per Diem is provided when traveling)


• Must be team oriented
