Great Plains Exteriors is a construction company specializing in exterior finishes for multifamily, senior living, and residential projects . Our scope includes roofing, siding, gutters, stucco, stone, masonry, decking, fencing and railing systems . We partner with developers, property owners, and general contractors to deliver accurate pricing, dependable service, and high-quality exterior construction solutions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. This full-time position offers hybrid work flexibility and is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates for multifamily, senior living, and residential exterior finish projects. Occasional site visits and a balance time spent for in-office meetings may be required depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for exterior scopes of finish on projects across multifamily, senior living, and residential markets
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for roofing, siding, stucco, masonry, stone, decking, railing, and gutter systems
  • Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
  • Coordinate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Develop proposals, budgets, and value-engineering options
  • Track bid schedules and meet submission deadlines
  • Clearly define scope, exclusions, and assumptions
  • Assist with change order and supplemental pricing
  • Maintain organized estimating files and cost databases
  • Collaborate remotely with project managers, field supervisors, and leadership teams

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of construction estimating experience (exterior finishes preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of multifamily, senior living, and residential construction
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital takeoff tools
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience estimating occupied multifamily or senior living projects
  • Familiarity with production residential or large-scale multifamily work
  • Knowledge of exterior system assemblies and building codes
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
