BE PART OF THE CONNECTION  

As an Associate Producer , you will collaborate with reporters and producers in the newsroom to craft compelling stories. Your love of politics, creativity and upbeat attitude will be essential as you tackle sensitive topics and tell character-driven stories. Alongside the team, you will cover all branches of government and the political stories important to our viewers across the country.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS

Required Qualifications

• Experience : Television news - 0-2 years
• Education : High school diploma
• Technical Skills : Knowledge of current events, social media, and industry trends
• Skills : Ability to collaborate, news writing skills, and attention to detail
• Travel Ability : Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
• Schedule : Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, comparable television work experience preferred
• Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software and basic non-linear editing systems
• May be required to lift up to five pounds

Working Conditions

• Works primarily inside a climate-controlled environment throughout the year but might be assigned field duties on occasion
• Semi-noisy newsroom setting

The base pay for this position generally is between $20.40 and $36.12 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
