As an ASIC Physical Design (PD) Engineer Intern with ForwardEdge ASIC, you will be working and collaborating with experienced PD team members to contribute to the design physical implementation and development of ASIC tools, flows and methodologies. You will gain hands-on experience in the PD domain and most or all aspects of design implementation supporting to create efficiencies with the PD team.

• All aspects of Physical design (floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing) best practices
• Utilize EDA tools and prepare or maintain accurate documentation as directed by experienced PD team members.
• Must demonstrate collaboration with cross functional teams, problem solving, teamwork and adaptability to new or changing tools, flows and methodologies.

Qualified Applicants will have the following education and experience:

• Actively working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
• Strong course work in VLSI design, digital logic
• Proficiency or intermediate level Programming skills such as Python, Tcl/Tk, Shell

Location and duration:

• Onsite in St. Paul, Minnesota for 12 weeks in the summer of 2026.
