We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Data Governance Specialist to lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks across our organization. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in either Data Management or Engineering , and who thrive in cross-functional environments. Experience in the Energy sector is a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with data and engineering teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance.
• Establish data ownership and stewardship models across business units.
• Define and maintain metadata standards and data lineage documentation.
• Support data classification, access controls, and privacy initiatives.
• Conduct gap analyses and recommend improvements to existing data governance practices.
• Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on data governance principles.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or engineering roles.
• Proven track record of implementing enterprise-level data governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, metadata management, and data lifecycle.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Preferred: Experience in the Energy industry , with knowledge of sector-specific data challenges.

Preferred Tools & Technologies:

• Expertise in Unity Catalog or Purview tools
• Experience in data platforms such as Data bricks, Microsoft Fabric
